Celebrating 30 Years of Magyal Pomra Encampment
Under the auspices of Makpön Jesse Grimes and the Council of the Makkyi Rabjam, the Kasung Publications group has compiled Victory Over Aggression, a book commemorating 30 years of Magyal Pomra Encampment.
The book is 96 pages long, with more than 200 photographs in color and black & white from each of the Encampments and Gars of the last 30 years, plus commentary by senior officers and kasung involved in those Encampments and Gars.
Victory Over Aggression, a book commemorating 30 years of Magyal Pomra Encampment, as a reflection of the Sakyong's wish that the Kasung mandala and teachings be made more accessible to the larger community.

Based on talks given by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, also known as the Dorje Dradul, on the path of warriorship as practiced in the discipline of the Dorje Kasung.
“This publication has several purposes: first, to be a study guide for those who are practising members of the Dorje Kasung; second, to provide all of the members of the Shambhala community with a firsthand knowledge of this significant part of the Dorje Dradul's teachings, which have deeply affected their own practice. Finally, we are pleased to make this volume available to all other interested readers. Whether they are drawn to this discipline or put off by it, through this book, their judgement can be informed by direct experience of the Dorje Kasung teachings. For all audiences, True Command presents an excellent example of how Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche's unique application of the Buddhist and Shambhala teachings is profoundly helpful in addressing the fundamental societal and cultural challenges of our time.
“The Town Talks includes every major address that the Dorje Dradul gave to the Dorje Kasung in an urban setting. It is in these 'town' talks that the basic framework and evolution of the Dorje Kasung practice are revealed. Though not an official history, this book contains material from all the historic occasions and events which form the heart of the Dorje Kasung teachings. It is not meant to be the complete teachings of the Dorje Kasung, but we felt it would be helpful to include supporting materials that fill in parts of the story and give it practical meaning. It is not possible to codify these teachings, but this is the most complete presentation you will be able to find.” – from the Introduction by James Gimian
